808 Consulting was founded in 2003 by Chris Mosetick to serve a niche group of small business owners. Since 2003 the Web and Internet have changed drastically. At full force 808 Consulting has been going against the grain of the well established web hosting industry. As large corporations have assembled large data centers to store vast amounts of data 808 has been working to reverse the process of commoditizing the web, the small business, and consumers web presence. These corporations want you to believe the web is something that has to be “somewhere else”. However, the web should and can be in everyones home or business, on the computers they already own. …Not a server on the other side of the country.
Paying a web hosting company to host a website was a perfectly fine method for the web of yesterday. That methodology is outdated to the minds of 808 Consulting, yet still firmly planted in almost everyone elses. As high–speed Internet connections become common place and the average computer becomes more powerful, it is apperent that these “basic computers” are cut out for much more than just browsing the web and playing games. In fact, they are capable of hosting powerful websites too.
In the coming years 808 will deliver software and processes that will help small business, but also the consumer market as well. 808 is proud to be a pioneer in getting back to basics with the web.
Our mentality: “The web should not be many computers talking to a few web servers, but rather, many computers configured as web servers talking to each other.”
-Chris Mosetick-
808 Consulting is a process long in the making for Chris. Self–taught everything he knows about the Web and Internet, Chris did study at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona.
Heavily involved in the schools recording studio under the guidence of the Director of Jazz Studies, David Schmidt, Chris was constantly around computers in the studio and at home. In 2003 Chris founded 808 Consulting with a simple mission in mind: Help small businesses save money on web hosting. In July of 2004 he decided that the Seattle area would be better suited to accomodate 808 Consulting so he moved 808 and himself from Glendale to Seattle. Chris currently plans to obtain his bachelors degree from Seattle University.
